The Time to Dine

Summer in South Florida gives foodies a chance to comfortably explore some of the region’s top restaurants without the high-season mayhem. No one understands that better than Visit Fort Lauderdale, which is providing further enticement through its annual Dine Out Lauderdale program in August and September.

Participating restaurants offer meals with at least three courses for $35 and/or $45 (or thereabouts). Among the eateries involved this year: 3030 Ocean, Boatyard, Café Maxx, Canyon, Dune, El Vez, Radiant 166 at Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport, S3, Wild Thyme, Yolo and Yot Bar and Kitchen.

What can diners expect? At American Social in Fort Lauderdale, the Dine Out menu features the choice of one in each of the following categories: Social Starters (meatball sliders, guavanero wings or goat cheese croquettes), Social Plates (West Coast salmon bowl, Social smash burger or wagyu steak fried rice) and Social Sweets (doughnut holes or fried brownie bites).

At Steak 954, inside W Fort Lauderdale, the offerings include Caesar salad, snapper crudo or melons with prosciutto (first course); steak frites, shrimp and grits, or tuna steak (second course); and yogurt panna cotta, sorbet or rum cake (dessert).
