BROWARD AND MIAMI-DADE

The restaurant: Little Hen Breakfast & Eatery

Where: 4579 Weston Road, Weston; 3451 NE First Ave., Suites 100-102, Miami

Takeout treats: A sense of Euro sophistication and English protocol permeates these popular breakfast and lunch outposts. Think freshly sourced morning favorites, a quaint selection of lunch treats (salads, sandwiches/burgers and a handful of entrées)—as well as high tea service, with requisite mini sandwiches and scones. On the breakfast side, highlights include eggs Benedict variations, including dishes with braised short ribs and jumbo lump crab, as well as omelets and some unique egg combos (like scrambled and pork carnitas tacos). Lunch entrées include a 4-ounce filet mignon, tuna tartare, and branzino.

Don’t miss: With all due respect to the healthy options (chia pudding, avocado toast, acai bowls), it’s hard to overlook the buttermilk pancakes (chocolate chip, Nutella, blueberry compote), French toast (including a bourbon batter offering with bacon, caramelized apple and vanilla sauce) and waffle side (there’s a bananas foster option) of the menu.
