Soaring For Children

THE EVENT  Voices for Children of Broward County proudly presents the 3rd Annual “Soaring for Children” fundraising event at Events by Grateful Palate. We are excited to be honoring Angelica Palank-Sharlet, who has been a wonderful partner to the Guardian ad Litem program as well as Voices for Children. The evening will feature a selection of hors d’oeuvres, gourmet dinner bites, and desserts, along with a wonderful program highlighted by live music, a silent and live auction, raffles, fine wines and cocktails, and much more.

THE CAUSE  Voices was created to fill a need. In the past few years, more than 3,500 abused, neglected and abandoned children in Broward County have found themselves in the care of the state, having been taken from all that is familiar to them: their homes, their schools, their families, their communities. Volunteer Guardians ad Litem are empowered by the courts to advocate for the best interests of these children and to stay with them until they are placed in permanent and safe homes. For many abused and neglected children, a Guardian ad Litem is the only constant adult presence in their lives.

Voices for Children is the only organization supporting the Guardian ad Litem Program in Broward County, working to assure that each child’s rights and needs are attended to while the child is in the child welfare system. Voices makes a difference in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable children.
