Signs of the Times

Jason Ditkofsky is positioning his newly acquired company as a window of opportunity for businesses that have been overwhelmed by the pandemic. Understanding the economic hardships that so many of his small business brethren are facing, the owner of Delray Beach-based McNeill Signs has come up with a contest to help out.

Ditkofsky is committing up to $100,000 worth of commercial storefront signage to companies either launching a new business or looking to revamp their current signage. Through Aug. 28, businesses can apply for the free signage by sending a 500-word essay to —and explaining why they are deserving of the opportunity.

Five winners will receive signage services from the family business that Ditkofsky recently purchased. Those services include custom design, channel letter manufacturing, permit acquisition and complete installation. Applicants must have a commercial lease; abide by all city, zoning, lease and building code guidelines; and will need to cover the permits fees paid directly to the city.

Winners will be contacted via email and be announced through the social media sites for McNeill Signs (which can be accessed through its website).
