SAVE expands to Broward: An organization dedicated to protecting LGBTQ individuals against discrimination expanded its South Florida footprint. Safeguarding American Values for Everyone recently held a canvassing event to inform the community about the need for low-income housing, an issue that disproportionately impacts LGBTQ individuals and those living with HIV. Data suggests that LGBTQ youth compose upward of 40% of homeless youth in the United States.

“Our top concern is addressing quality of life for Floridians in a county that is important in making a difference at all levels of government,” said Orlando Gonzales, SAVE’s executive director. Visit save.lgbt to learn more about the organization’s initiatives.
