South Florida Business & Wealth will launch as a new monthly business magazine in September, Gary Press, chairman and CEO of New Lifestyle Club (NLC) has announced.

In conjunction with the magazine launch, NLC and SFBW are also launching a new C-suite awards program called the Apogee Awards.

The awards will honor top executives in each of South Florida’s three counties for the following categories: chairman/chairwoman, CEOs, presidents, CFOs, chief marketing officers, chief information officers and heads of HR and sales.

SFBW will be directly mailed to 30,000 key decision-makers and influencers in South Florida. Press, the former publisher of the Baltimore and South Florida Business Journals, will serve as chairman and CEO of the magazine.

“Everything in my 30-year magazine publishing career has culminated with South Florida Business & Wealth,” says Press. “Our truly top-tier staff is positioning this magazine as THE business publication for those who make the South Florida business world tick.”

A sneak preview issue of SFBW has already been published and the first regulation issue will begin in September.

The Apogee Awards will be unique in South Florida for the breadth of C-level executives it will honor.

“Not only are we gratified with the opportunity of honoring people who have made such an impact on the world of business and our community, but the event will create a powerful network among these distinguished senior executives,” says Press.

NLC editor-in-chief Kevin Gale will be editor-in-chief and publisher of SFBW. He was previously editor-in-chief of the South Florida Business Journal and business editor of the Sun Sentinel. Sally Nicholas, previously a market manager at the South Florida Business Journal will be the associate publisher.

The Octagon Family of Recruiting Companies, led by President Mitch Kramer, will be the presenting sponsor for the Apogee Awards. Octagon, with offices in Plantation and the Blue Lagoon area of Miami, offers technology staffing, professional recruiting and executive search.

Nominations for the awards program will be open to the public and honorees will be determined by the editorial staff with input from an external advisory panel. Apogee Awards winners will be recognized at an awards program and featured in a special multi-page section of South Florida Business & Wealth magazine.
