Miami Spice Kicks Off

In an effort to assist local restaurants devastated by the pandemic, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau has extended the 19th year of its popular Miami Spice Restaurant Program. For the first time, Miami Spice will run for the better part of four months, going all the way to Sept. 30. In addition, the promotion will encompass takeout and delivery because of the reduced occupancy at restaurants.

Participating restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe menus at reduced prices of $25 per person for lunch and brunch and $39 per person for dinner. Diners can choose from more than 100 participating restaurants. Prices include an appetizer, entrée and dessert; alcohol, tax, tip/service charges are excluded.

“The GMCVB remains wholly committed to upholding the stellar reputation of this program and continuing to shed light on the incredible culinary talent across our vibrant destination,” said William D. Talbert III, the organization’s president and CEO. “We will never stop finding new ways to bolster Miamians, who continue to demonstrate resiliency time and time again.”

Though the program is open to GMCVB partners, the bureau is waiving fees to participate in Miami Spice; restaurants can join when they are fully operational or ready, allowing them to “Spice Now,” or “Spice Soon,” which will be denoted in the website directory. The complete list of participating restaurants is available at miamishines.com/miamispice.

Among the restaurants participating: AQ by Il Mulino, Bourbon Steak Miami, Byblos Miami, Diez y Seis, Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market, Esotico Miami, Glass & Vine, Kao Sushi & Grill, Nikki Beach, Novecento (Aventura, Brickell, Doral and Key Biscayne), Prime Fish, Red the Steakhouse (pictured above), Root & Bone South Miami, Shula’s Steak 2, StripSteak by Michael Mina, Tap 42 (Aventura, Coral Gables, Midtown), and Whitney’s Restaurant.
