Miami-Based Oishii Sake Celebrates National Sake Day

Oct. 1 will be the day of celebration.

Miami-based Oishii Sake plans to celebrate National Sake Day by introducing a new perspective on the popular Japanese drink. Under the slogan “Sake, not just for sushi anymore,” Oishii highlights pairing its concoction with a wide range of dishes, including pizza, burgers, and spaghetti.

Oishii Sake, available for $35.99, blends authentic Japanese techniques with American ingenuity. It uses pure Blue Ridge Mountain water and high-quality Titan rice from Arkansas. It’s an ode to the concept that exceptional sake originates from top-notch ingredients—excellent rice combined with high-quality water results in premium sake.

Visitors can savor an Oishii Cocktail in the nontraditional sake-sipping environment of Bob’s Your Uncle Miami, a timeless bar with a local atmosphere. For a home recipe, a Lychee Sake Martini combines Oishii Sake, sweet lychee and lemon for any celebration or gathering.

Lychee Sake Martini

  • 2 ounces Oishii Sake
  • 1 ounce Lychee liqueur
  • 1 ounce Lychee juice
  • 0.5 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Whole lychee fruit or a lemon twist for garnish

1. Prepare the Glass: Place a martini glass in the freezer and let it chill for approximately 10 minutes. If desired, lightly rub a lychee or lemon wedge around the rim of the glass.

2. Mix the Drink: Combine two ounces of sake, one ounce of lychee liqueur, one ounce of lychee juice and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (about 0.5 ounces) in a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.

3. Serve: Take the martini glass out of the freezer and pour the mixture from the shaker into the chilled glass.

4. Garnish: Top with a whole lychee fruit or a lemon twist.
