Lifestyle’s Guide to Summer Fun, Part 4

Take a Riverboat Cruise: Nothing completes a visit to South Florida like exploring our waterways on a riverboat—especially one that’s been dazzling locals and tourists since 1935. Jungle Queen has entertained some 20 million people over the past 86 years. Its narrated afternoon and sunset cruises take passengers along Fort Lauderdale’s New River and past the luxury homes on Millionaire’s Row. The Tropical Isle dinner and variety show cruise includes all-you-can-eat chicken and ribs.

Shooters YogaStretch and Dine: Start your weekend in style with a touch of Zen, a glass of bubbly, and some gourmet goodies along the Intracoastal—all courtesy of Shooters Waterfront in Fort Lauderdale. The restaurant’s weekly Yoga and Yolks program kicks off at 8 a.m. each Saturday with a free hourlong yoga class taught by instructor Taryn Allen. Afterward, enjoy a Champagne toast—and $5 off healthy brunch dishes like avocado toast and the quinoa beet salad.

Please Your Palate: Now through July 17, Ababu Miami Beach’s the Den is hosting chef Tadaaki Ishizaki, a founding member of the Japan Dry Aging Beef Promotion Board. What does that mean for diners? It’s a rare opportunity to savor high-grade Japanese beef prepared by a world-renowned expert as part of Now & Den: A Wagyu Series. Chef Ishizaki will oversee omakase dinners featuring different types of Japanese dry-aged beef—like miyazaki gyu and premium WAOH wagyu. There are two nightly seatings (7 and 9:30 p.m.) from Wednesday through Saturday for $220 per person.

Visit the Zoo: The largest and oldest zoo in Florida (and fifth largest in the U.S.) once again is welcoming animal lovers. In addition to its many viewing areas, Zoo Miami has reopened experiences including camel, giraffe and parrot feedings; playgrounds and rides; and tram tours. At press time, one-day tickets were being sold online because of limited capacity—and weekends and holidays were filling up.
