Let it Roll

Diamond Strike Lanes

Number of lanes: 32

What’s striking: It’s been around since 1958, and it’s still going strong. Diamond Strike has a nostalgic and casual vibe that’s complemented by something you don’t see every day at a bowling center—live music. Singers and bands take the stage at Rip’s Sports Bar & Grill (check the website to see who’s playing), including live band karaoke. In addition, Diamond Strike features arcade games, billiards and a killer two-for-one happy hour every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Splitsville

Number of lanes: 13

What’s striking: As evidenced by the evening dress code (no sleeveless tank tops or oversized T-shirts), age policy (it’s 21-older after 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday), and hip, retro-style décor, this isn’t the spot for Tuesday night league bowling. This is destination bowling, and Splitsville enhances the boutique experience with an outdoor patio, craft cocktails and a chef-driven menu that includes robust salads and 18 sushi offerings (try the Fantasy Roll, with salmon, ahi tuna, steamed shrimp and more).

Frank Theatres CineBowl & Grille

Number of lanes: 16

What’s striking: Bowling is just one of the entertainment options at a facility that includes a 12-screen movie complex (with an Imax theater), an arcade—and Burger & Beer Joint, the lively sports bar serving more than 75 beers, a menu with nearly 20 sandwiches and burgers, and, wait for it … deep-fried cheesecake. Check out the numerous party packages—the adult versions can combine bowling, appetizers and cocktails, along with movie tickets and arcade cards, if so desired.

Bowlero

Number of lanes: 32

What’s striking: Every night has the potential to feel like a college party at Bowlero, thanks, in part, to its unique specials—like $2.22 Tuesdays, where bowling (per game), drinks and tacos are all that price. Or maybe it’s the games of beer pong, cornhole and giant Jenga that are available. Or the video walls. Or the blacklight bowling. It’s a great spot for corporate events and special-occasion blowouts.

Strike 10 Bowling

Number of lanes: 11 (plus 2 minibowl lanes)

What’s striking: Talk about something for everyone. Younger children can roll on two miniature alleys with shorter lanes and smaller bowling balls; adults have the run of the rest of the lanes, along with a 50-foot-long bar. There also are 30 HDTVs and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems; a live DJ keeps the room buzzing on weekends—and there’s even a small hookah lounge, offering more than 20 flavors.
