To honor the essential workers, doctors, nurses, teachers, childcare workers, home health aides, store clerks, delivery drivers and other frontline workers who have been at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19, the Fuller Center is hosting a hero walk. The ‘Inaugural Hero Walk: Honoring Our Hometown Heroes’ occurs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Boca Raton Innovation Campus at 5000 T-Rex Ave.
“The walk is open to everyone–no superhero cape needed! Come dressed as your personal ‘everyday hero’ for a fun morning as we honor all of the wonderful people in our community who go above and beyond to keep us safe and cared for during the pandemic,” says Ellyn Okrent, CEO of Fuller Center, a nonprofit organization that provides educational opportunities for under-resourced children in South Florida.
Along with the one-mile walk, the event will feature children’s activities, a live DJ and a special presentation by the Fuller Center children. Breakfast, snacks and beverages are also available. A first responder’s area featuring vehicles from the Boca Raton Fire Rescue, Police Department and FPL will also be displayed.
