Explore the Possibility of Life on Mars at the Levan Center of Innovation

The community is invited to the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 28.

The Life on Mars: The Martian Report event will be hosted by the Alan B Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation (Levan Center of Innovation) and Space Foundation’s Space Commerce Institute from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28. It aims to offer attendees a fascinating glimpse into the future of space exploration and human habitation on Mars through the following programs:

Life on Mars Habitat Simulation: After spending three days in the world of Martians, working in close collaboration with NASA and space experts, six committed teams will have come up with pioneering ideas to overcome the obstacles of establishing a human settlement on Mars.

Team Presentations: Participants can obtain firsthand insights from each of the six Martian teams, which consist of experts and visionaries from diverse backgrounds and locations worldwide:

  • Habitat Operations
  • Health and Safety
  • Human Services and Recreation
  • Nutrition and Agriculture
  • Resources Development and Management
  • Structures and Suit Design

Expert Judging: A panel of experts with high standing will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the proposed solutions, determining if the programs developed by the Martian community teams possess the necessary attributes to flourish on Mars.

Celebratory Lunch: After the presentations, a celebratory lunch will be held at 2 p.m.

Cutting-Edge Programming, Diverse Talent Attraction, and International Collaborations: The Levan Center’s innovative programming, which includes the renowned LEVL5: SPACE DOCK AT NSU™ initiatives, is not only putting South Florida on the map in the global space industry, but it is also attracting diverse talents from around the world. In collaboration with NASA and Space Florida, the Levan Center proudly partnered with the Space Foundation on two South Florida Space Days, demonstrating its dedication to global space cooperation and innovation.

Empower Their Future: The SPACE DOCK AT NSU™ program is passionate about maintaining its drive for innovation and space entrepreneurship. The organization depends on its supporters to achieve this goal, with contributions playing a crucial role in fueling its mission to ideate, incubate, and accelerate groundbreaking programs. Unfortunately, the grant that previously sustained them is no longer available, making public support the bedrock of their ability to continue shaping the future of space innovation.
