Broward Center livestreams a performance by Christopher Jackson of “Hamilton”

This month, your living will be the room where it happens when Broward Center presents a virtual concert with Christopher Jackson, who originated the role of George Washington in the Broadway smash Hamilton.

Streaming live from New York’s New World Stages, Jackson performs pop standards, original material and songs from his favorite musicals with a live band. The Grammy and Emmy award winner will answer questions from audience members texting in questions. The performance, a co-production of Dallas Summer Musicals and Entertainment Benefits Group, benefits a number of nonprofit arts organizations around the country, including Broward Center.

“Nonprofit arts presenters are the lifeblood of the performing arts industry and a pipeline for young talent. Without them there is no Broadway,” Jackson says. “While everything is shut down during this terrible pandemic, I am delighted to be able to help spread some joy and help raise some much-needed support for these deserving organizations.”

Performance is Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 per household and includes access to the livestream performance plus an additional 72 hours of on-demand viewing. Purchase tickets here.
