Tri-County Animal Rescue

New name and big plans

The Tri-County Humane Society has recently been renamed as the Tri-County Animal Rescue (TCAR). The rebranding is a way to more accurately express the need they fill as the largest 100% no-kill shelter for Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and beyond. “Our new name now accurately defines our organization’s brand promise of rescuing animals and preserving lives,” shared TCAR Chair Harriet Lewis-Mooney, Esq.

The new name and logo were announced during 12th Annual Doggie Ball, a fund-raiser with a cowboy chic theme this year. Also unveiled were the plans for the nearly-9000 square foot, state-of-the-art Animal Rescue Center. The 18-month development is finally coming to fruition. The new building will act as both initial isolation for new, incoming adoptees as well as a medical center for any dogs or cats they intake.

“If a dog or cat is in need of medical care, it will receive it t the new center if the level of care is possible [at the new facility],” noted Lewis-Mooney.

The new facility will house an examination room, treatment room, and isolation facilities for rescues that have contagious illnesses and conditions.

“The dedicated Tri County Animal Rescue staff, volunteers and advocates witness first-hand the rough, lonesome road many furry paws have traveled to its doors, not understanding why they’ve been abandoned or surrendered by their owners,” added Lewis-Mooney. “These animals long to be loved and yearn for acts of loving kindness. Their stories and resilient spirits inspire us to help write a new chapter in their lives, one with a happy ‘furever home’ ending!”
