Adrift Mare by Chef David Myers Is Set to Open in July

The new concept at Hotel AKA Brickell features a Mediterranean-inspired beverage program by Moe Aljaff and Juliette Larrouy.

The flavors of the Mediterranean coastline will soon be coming to Miami with the launch of Adrift Mare, a new culinary experience set to open in the heart of the city’s Brickell neighborhood this summer. Created by renowned chef and restaurateur David Myers, also known as the “Gypsy Chef,” the restaurant draws inspiration from his European travels. It blends the French Riviera’s chicness, the relaxed vibe of the Balearic Islands, the warm Levant hospitality and the gentle rhythms of the Greek Isles. Adrift Mare promises a captivating culinary journey, and to complement the gastronomic offerings, the restaurant has partnered with internationally renowned cocktail experts Moe Aljaff and Juliette Larrouy. Located on the 25th floor of the luxurious Hotel AKA Brickell, this marks Chef Myers’ first-ever East Coast concept under the global Adrift brand.

“I am thrilled to be working alongside the Hotel AKA team to bring my vision for Adrift Mare to life in Brickell,” Chef Myers says. “Miami has such a vibrant dining scene and I believe that we have something incredibly exciting to bring to the table. Travel has always been my greatest inspiration and most important tool when developing unique culinary experiences. With Adrift Mare, I look forward to sharing some of my personal travel memories from the Mediterranean Sea with Miami when we open our doors this summer.”

Chef Myers has been recognized for his culinary excellence, starting with his first restaurant, Sona in Los Angeles, which earned a coveted Michelin star for three consecutive years. His newest venture draws inspiration from the many cultures and cuisines he has encountered during his global travels.

“David Myers’ portfolio of authentic, organic, and ethereal concepts are well aligned with my vision for the AKA brand and our presence in the heart of Brickell,” Larry Korman says, CEO of AKA. “It’s a priority for AKA to partner with brands that not only elevate our guests’ stays on property, but also enhance the surrounding neighborhood for residents and visitors. We are confident that David Myers’ culinary expertise and concept for ADRIFT Mare complement both the hotel and its location in Brickell’s center.”

The current space at 1395 Brickell Ave. is transforming into a stylish restaurant with an airy design. Michael Gabellini of Gabellini Sheppard Associates is behind the redesign, incorporating decorative elements inspired by the beauty of South Florida. Guests can ascend to the 25th-floor restaurant via the newly renovated lobby level and take in views of the city skyline and Biscayne Bay through floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior and exterior spaces are filled with lush greenery, wave-patterned stone floors, and artisanal materials such as light-oak wood, hammered silver nickel, bronze mirror, marble and stone, textured glass panels, and silk, linen and velvet fabrics. The restaurant features plentiful seating, including 65 indoor seats, 12 in the bar and lounge, and 41 in the private dining room, which boasts luxe accents.

The restaurant will soon begin accepting pre-reservations ahead of its opening. For more information, visit www.adriftmare.com/miami
