Seeing Red

The colorful, creative and sometimes whimsical work of Tony Kelly finds an appropriate, albeit temporary home inside the Faena Art Project Room, the space (3430 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) recently introduced by Faena Art Foundation for its artist residency program and artist talks.

Kelly, a Los Angeles-based fine art photographer whose work generates consistent buzz, was invited last year to create a series of images based on the stylish vibe at Faena Hotel Miami Beach. That project resulted in an artistic magazine with more than 40 photographs.

For the “Red Room” exhibition at the Art Project Room, Kelly chose, what he felt, were the 15 most vibrant images from the series. Those photos are presented in a red surrounding that “envelops the viewer in the space.” Limited-edition prints are available for sale; a portion of the proceeds will benefit Faena Art. The exhibition runs through April 3. (faena.com)
