Big picture: The challenge here for Mario Moeinifar (pictured left), lead designer and president of a design/build operation with full-service locations in Fort Lauderdale and Canada, was extending a thread that ties together all spaces on the main floor—while infusing the living space with its own upbeat ambience. Adding to the challenge—pulling together elements that dazzle without wearing out their welcome over time.
The details (featured image above): Vibrant colors and plush velvet complement the warmth and comfort of a custom leather sofa, lending a timeless air to the living room space while still maintaining the “club feel” desired by the client—a vibe also inherent in the glass and chrome featured on the staircase. Part of what distinguishes Moeinifar’s team is that Prince Bay custom designs much of the artwork used, “because we need a certain feel and, of course, [specific] colors in each piece,” he says. “That’s also the reason we decided to use natural oak wood, stained on site, to give the [table] a welcoming look that matches the other warm colors in the kitchen [which can be seen in the background].”

Big picture: The company founded by brothers Bill and Joe Feinberg in the mid-1980s remains one of the pillars of the Broward business community—and a trusted destination for projects like this one, a timeless, contemporary his/her master bathroom inspired by a similar space at the Four Seasons.
The details: More than 35 slabs of grain-matched Neolith Calacatta porcelain seamlessly cover the walls. Additional slabs were used on the floor, according to designer Andy Fischman; the material also runs into the shower, creating a barrier-free entry. “We chose porcelain over marble because of the beauty of the material, and the ease of maintenance and installation,” Fischman says.
A free-standing tub, semi-recessed into the tub deck, adds depth and dimension to the square room. Lighting in the room drew considerable attention. “There is a recessed LED light from behind the soffit above the tub, with LED lighting integrated into the soffit,” Fischman notes. “The shower also features indirect LED lighting recessed into the ceiling, illuminating the back shower wall.”
Wall-mounted vanities, in a lacquer finish, offer ample storage; a Toto Neorest toilet, wall-mounted faucets and chrome fixtures complete the look.

Big picture: Since opening a kitchen design boutique outside of Paris in 2009, Thierry Pigeot has remained true to his promise of stirring the senses with concepts that fuse functionality with contemporary drama. He’s left that same mark on projects in South Florida, where he’s been for several years since moving operations to the U.S.
The details: An expansive kitchen space receives the Premium touch, starting with rich, oak veneer cabinets and long lacquer doors (concealing some of the appliances), imported from Italy. Both the center island and the deluxe coffee bar are framed by white cristallo quartzite tops. China, glassware and other pieces are displayed in back-lit glass towers that lend an artistic element to the kitchen. Equally eye-catching is the 7-foot-tall stainless-steel ventilation hood, which makes a powerful statement on the back wall.
