Saiko-i lends a Helping Hand

Wishes are becoming reality at Saiko-i in Boca Raton, as diners’ dollars are being donated to a local charitable cause.

The sushi lounge and hibachi restaurant is home to a large Buddha statue that graces its entryway. Tina Wang, co-owner of this location, notes that guests often make wishes by leaving coins and bills in the Buddha’s outstretched hand and lap. Tina and her husband, co-owner Chef Jason Zheng, have recently announced the donation of these wish dollars to a local cause.

“We had been looking for a local charity with food programs that feed people in our community, and Boca Helping Hands is the perfect fit,” she says. “Their food pantry programs, where they provide groceries, and their other meal programs, provide an extremely important service for adults and children. We look forward to donating the ‘Buddha money’ to this wonderful charity, throughout the year, for many years to come.”

The couple just made their first donation of $2,200 to Boca Helping Hands, a community-based nonprofit organization that provides food, medical and financial assistance as well as education and job training to those in need. They plan to continue donating their patrons’ wishes to this organization.
