2nd Annual Boca International Jewish Film Festival Announces 2025 Line-Up

Over 70 feature films and shorts are featured.

The Boca International Jewish Film Festival (BIJFF) is back for its eagerly awaited second annual event, running from Feb. 23 to March 16. Featuring over 70 feature films, documentaries and shorts from 25 countries, the festival promises a vibrant cultural experience for film enthusiasts and the community. Screenings and special events will be hosted at Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton and the Movies of Delray, with special appearances by filmmakers, producers, and actors offering exclusive insights into their creations.

“Our vision has always been to bring people together through the power of film,” says Wendy Honig, Co-Founder of the BIJFF. “This year’s festival continues to reflect the diversity and vibrancy of Jewish culture worldwide. We are thrilled to showcase stories that educate, inspire, and entertain while fostering meaningful conversations.”

The festival kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Florida premiere of She Wouldn’t Take Off Her Boots, a compelling documentary by director Wilky Black that tells stories of survival during the Holocaust and chronicles the creation of a monument honoring the victims in Liepaja, Latvia. Following the screening, an engaging discussion will feature producer Paul Burger, artist Victoria Milstein, and historian Dr. Robert Watson, offering valuable perspectives on the film and its historical significance.

The opening evening showcases the Palm Beach County premiere of Diane Warren: Relentless, an inspiring documentary that celebrates one of the most prolific yet underrecognized songwriters in history. With 15 Academy Award nominations, Diane Warren has created the soundtrack of our lives, crafting iconic hits for legendary artists such as Cher, Whitney Houston, Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and Beyoncé. Directed by Bess Kargman, the film features appearances by industry icons like Jerry Bruckheimer, Cher, Gloria Estefan, Quincy Jones and Toni Braxton. It offers an intimate look at Warren’s life, creative process, and extraordinary achievements. The screening includes a red-carpet reception and a Q&A with special guests.

The festival wraps up with Guns N’ Moses, a quirky and heartfelt comedy from director Salvador Litvak. Starring Neal McDonough, Dermot Mulroney, and Christopher Lloyd, the film tells the story of a small-town rabbi who becomes an unlikely gunslinger after a violent attack on his community. This special premiere event will feature a closing night party and an engaging Q&A session with director Salvador Litvak.

“This year’s BIJFF is bigger and better than ever,” says Lesley Rich, Festival co-founder.  “We’re proud to showcase incredible films that highlight Jewish stories, traditions, and humor while creating a space for connection and cultural appreciation.  “
